About

Spare No Arrows (SPN) was created in the month of August, in the year of our Lord 2008.  The author: a young man named Anthony, whose sole desire is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

That’s me.

On this page, I’m going to be discussing a few critical areas in my life so that you can better understand where I’m “coming from”.  Other than that, read what I’ve written on this blog to get to know me better.  For those of you who are my family and/or friends, you already do know me – but I believe this blog will give you an opportunity to look a little deeper into how I think… by reading what I write.

First and foremost, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ – I prayed the “sinner’s prayer” as a child, but re-dedicated my life to God during a Basic Seminar.  As such, I pray that all my thoughts, words, actions, motives, and attitudes are transformed by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2).  Ultimately, I am going to be approaching all things from a distinctly Christian worldview.  Of course, I do not claim to be perfect, but am always endeavoring to be more like Christ.

There are also a number of areas that, by God’s grace, I hope to be involved in within the next five years:

  1. Lifelong learning/training/education
  2. Ministry
  3. Business
  4. Communications
  5. Missions

To start out with, I am already (and have been for many years) pursuing an “education”, meaning a formal diploma and then a college degree.  Why?  I believe that there are potential opportunities God may be calling me to pursue in the future that require the acclaimed “degree”.  I do not feel called, however, to spend four years in a traditional brick-and-mortar college or university, although I am not saying that is necessarily wrong, either – God directs different individuals in different ways. (Another topic altogether…)  I am currently taking equivalency exams (CLEPS, Dantes, etc.) with the goal of getting a degree in Business Administration from Thoms Edison State College (TESC) by 2010. I am doing this because, in addition to what I already mentioned, I believe the foundation in basic business skills such as management, marketing, accounting, law, etc. will be useful toward the purpose God has for me in life.

Ministry – right now in my home, with the goal of making my family successful.  In the future, it will take on a different form, perhaps, but of course the family still being an integral part.

Business – owning my own business in the future, that gives me the ability to both provide for those whom God has placed in my care, and the freedom to go and do when God calls.

Communications – speech, writing, photography, and even perhaps film-making.

Missions – as John Piper has put it, if man’s chief end is to glorify God, and God is glorified when & where people worship Him… and people don’t worship God unless they believe in Him… and they won’t believe unless someone goes and tells them… it is also must be a chief end of the individual, the family, and the Church, to obey God and “Go and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19).
